Grease : Grease should be used for Connections & Bearings. My main Preference is Shimano Premium Dura-Ace Grease because it's ( Cool Florescent Yellow hue ) but wears in Yellow like old Grease on Vintage Bikes, I do find Shimano Dura Grease a tad expensive for the large amount of Grease used on Vintage Schwinn Bottom Brackets. We have used Park Tool ( Matt Blue ) grease for years it's a staple grease. Maxima ( Blue ) Grease is another option that is Robust and a Good Value, we are currently using Maxima grease as our bulk grease for Old Schwinns and Pleased. Phil Wood ( Green ) Grease is another Fine Product Popular in the Road Bike & MTB world. Tri Flow Offers a Clear Synthetic Grease good for use when Plastic and Rubber are in contact. White Lithium Grease is an option but we do use it. Grease will become the Mechanics Preference, you should read the make up and determine what's best for you.

Oils : Oils are used when when you need even more fluid protection. Phil Wood Tenacious Oil is a Shop Staple for oiling Tools, Hubs, Chains, Etc.... 3 Drops of Phil oil into an Old Vintage Sturmey Archer Hub will improve it's service. Tri-Flow is another Great Oil widely used on Guns & Skateboard Bearings. It's Reach is Far beyond the Bike World buts aids the bike world all the same.

Specialty Lube : Park Tool ASC-1 Anti-Seize Compound is for Threads and Contrasting Metal Unions like Steel to Aluminum & Aluminum to Aluminum ( Seat Posts & Threads ). It Reduces reduces friction in threaded and press fit applications for easy assembly and disassembly. Ideal for bottom bracket and pedal threads, pressed headset cups, seat posts, quill stems, etc. ASC-1 seals and protects parts from corrosion and rust under the most extreme conditions. 4 oz (113 g) tube For use on steel, aluminum, and titanium NOTE: Some painted surfaces can be sensitive to oil and grease.
